Continued from Day 10682

Day 10683
Monday, 19 November 2018

I just remembered I forgot to buy a fridge magnet in Leuven!

I have a cold and headache. Why couldn’t I be sick and be done all these days? Damnit immune system. Also, my German class began from today. I was wearing 4 layers and still shivering. -1°C and it is still 1 pm on a November day. But it was a good German class. From today, I have to be in class 4 hours a day, 5 days a week without skipping. Or I miss out on a lot and it gets harder to catch up as I go farther into the course.

The Indo-German Symposium last week was about sustainable energy for developing economies. We discussed the future with growing electric cars and the possibility (in a high population country like India) of the grid failing because everybody came back home from work and decided to plug their car in for charging.

I love how there’s still little things people across the Commonwealth can relate to, and the rest of the world cannot. Like bloody switches for plugholes.

Shit. Another month and it is 2019. Somebody please slow the time!

Okay, so this is interesting. I have no opinion on the matter, but if you do, feel free to discuss it with me in the comments. I am willing to hear what you have to say. For now, I gotta sleep, kids. Class in the morning again. Tschüß.

Day 10684
Tuesday, 20 November 2018

No Facebook, nobody wants to look back on that post from 2007. It is embarrassing. I turned 18 in 2007. That is me at 18.

I still have a really bad headache. I have been eating milk rice and nothing else. Last two days I have done nothing much after getting back from German class. But I have to soon figure out a study schedule around it so I don’t end up learning German and failing my courses.

Day 2 of German class.

I am mentioned at 12:36 of the following video!

Back in India, we have harvest festivals 4 times a year. Makar Sankranti, Thai Pongal, Uttarayana, Lohri, and Magh Bihu or Bhogali Bihu in January, Holi in February–March, Vaisakhi in April and Onam in August–September are a few important harvest festivals. For more info about harvest holidays around the world, read Wikipedia.

Also, this is on the news now. Good for him. The island is out of bounds for visitors for a reason. Chau wrote that he was “doing this to establish the kingdom of Jesus on the island”. I don’t even know what to say.

I was late for class today, by 5 minutes. There is a bus every 10 minutes, and it takes 5 minutes to reach. I have to catch the 0830 bus every morning because if I miss that, I am 5 minutes late. Class starts at 0845. 4 German classes done. Ich bin müde.

Also, check out these videos-

The content from 46:06 in the last video is mine, and is sourced from this very blog. That made zero sense. For context, I wrote that back in 2013 when I was in the depths of depression.

Lauren says, “Three people came up to me to say how good it was, Novi.”

She was probably saying that to cheer me up. Anyway, I shall link up the respective material in due time. For now, I am a published writer, and thanks to Lauren Fleming for that. My name is in print!

P. V. Narasimha Rao (1921-2004), who served as the tenth Prime Minister of India (1991-1996), could fluently speak nine Indian languages: Telugu, Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, Oriya, Tamil, Kannada, Sanskrit, and Bengali, and six foreign languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, and Persian.

Day 10688
Saturday, 24 November 2018

I watched YouTube videos all morning.

Another step in the quest for organised Leben. Food (dinner) and clothing (sweatshirt) plan for each day of the month. Laundry day is every alternate Saturday at 9 am. Ich habe 5 Sweatshirts für 40 Euro gekaufen. Sometime in October, when there was a clearance sale at C&A. The additional layer is keeping me alive this winter. Sweatshirts are practically my standard outfit in Germany. I do not take them off unless I am at home. Nobody gets to see what shirts or T-shirts I wear unless they visit me. That is why I stopped buying T-shirts. I will not be needing any new ones as long as I live in Deutschland, haha.

Also, whoa:

If I don’t eat meat for two months, I can afford the DNA test. It will only tell me what I already know tho. 100% South Asian. Yet bin ich curious. Nur 59,- Euro. As far as I know, my great grandfather, like many others facing forced conversion or death by missionaries, fled Goa (Portuguese colony) in 1917 and settled in the Bombay province (British colony). If there was any mixing, I would know.

What the hell. I just ordered. Ich bin Vegetarier für die nächsten zwei Monate. As of now AncestryDNA is still the best option for a DNA analysis. It has the best database. MyHeritage and 23&Me are nowhere close. I am trying to practice my German wherever I get an opportunity. Please bear with it.

I have 7 exams in total.

5 February: Advanced Space Propulsion (ASP)
6 February: Hypersonic Aerodynamics and Atmospheric Entry (HAAE)
7 February: Space Missions Engineering (SME)
12 February: Mathematical Optimisation (MAO)
18 March: Advanced Space Dynamics (ASD)
