Day 10671

Apparently, that is South Sudan. I have no idea about Africa’s geography. I can only identify a bunch of them. South Africa, DR Congo, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Egypt, Kenya… I am better at identifying Europe, I think. I am best at Asia and North America, and I suck at Africa and South/Central America. Also, I can do more than half USA states! (“I think”)
My Intensiv Deutschkurs begins on the 19th. I will be going to German class from 0845-1250, Monday to Friday. 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. If I do well, I am confident I will be able to hold a conversation with Apolline in German by the end of the year. Well, it is my fault I left the German this late. If I had enrolled last year, I would not have to go intensive. I could have done 2 hours a day, 2 days a week. Now I am out of time. The encouraging thing is I have picked up a lot over the past year without taking a class, so I kind of have a head start. Do not forget I scored 37% on the B1 level (60% to pass) last year before moving to Germany, so I do know more German than I give myself credit for. I could easily clear A1 (maybe even A2) if I ever slightly more confident about myself. I don’t have to pay through the nose for classes. I do need to push myself to speak more, however. I will not know how bad (or good) I am unless I start interacting with people, which I tend to avoid.
Did you know L42 had a Snakesies edition? I found them yesterday when I was going through my logos folder on my laptop. You can find the entire collection here.

Graphic design shall be my backup career option, haha.
Lauren says, “Life moves on. We are made of all the places and people we have known and we carry them with us even when they’re not there.”
If France were to leave the EU, what would it be called (on the lines of Brexit): OuiOut, Fruckoff or Fraurevoir?

Day 10672
Thursday, 8 November 2018
I think it is Diwali, guys. I am not sure.
Diwali is a five day festival. 6th-10th November this year. One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolises the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.” For more, there is always Google and Wikipedia.
Have you listened to Pakistan’s national anthem? I love the song and lyrics. It’s one of my favourite national anthems, outside my own motherland’s. Israel’s sounds nice too. I have the Seekers’ I Am Australianย on my playlist too. Once when it come on one time, Gaurav pointed out that an Indian was listening to a song about Australia in Germany. I love that song. Also, fun fact: Rabindranath Tagore has the cool distinction of composing the national anthems of two countries (India and Bangladesh).
Word of the Day: Fambly
A group of unrelated people that are so full of platonic love for each other that they consider one another family.
I made a thing. I spent the last hour or two making that.

I saw a helicopter chase today. I mean, it wasn’t a chase per se,ย but it looked like one helicopter was following the other. There were three of them at one point.
I cannot believe this is three years ago. Also, I decided to draw a sketch of Rani’s little baby:

I sent Apolline my selfies because she asked for them, and she sent me these back:
Also, that is a wrap on Diwali 2018. 15 days from now is the Tulsi pooja, where we worship the Holy Basil plant, and then we wait for Christmas. Wow, 2018 went by so quickly. I have a train to catch in the morning. Ciao.

Day 10674

This is so true.
I went to Leuven today, to meet Spooky. She is so small and cute, like a human-sized penguin, and with an adorable accent! It was a fun day. Leuven is a lot like Aachen, but they speak Dutch and French there!
By the way, the myth about kitchen sinks draining in opposite directions in the northern and southern hemispheres has been successfully busted. What are Australian friends for if you cannot use them to bust some myths, right?
Random thought: Everybody is not equally friendly with everyone, including us (you and me), if you think about it. Maybe somebody else thinks you do not talk to them, or ignore them, even if you think you don’t. It goes around. But the face is, we are friendlier with some more than others, and rightfully so. That is our business.
