Continued from Day 10655

Day 10656
Tuesday, 23 October 2018

When you have no internet, so the internet company asks you to visit the website, log into your account and report a problem with the connection… But, how do you do that if you have no internet?!

It is still October and I have already graduated to 5 layers of clothing. Vest > T-shirt > sweater > hoodie > sweatshirt. This is going to be a long winter, but I am determined to make a summer out of it. I shall put on enough layers so that I am warm enough to complain of feeling hot, and then take a layer off and be like- “phew, that’s better now.

I am ready for you, winter. Come on, what you got?

The 2018 Women’s World Cup official song. Tournament starts next week. Excited. Watch this!

Do you visit this blog often but do not get the cricket references? Here is a 3-minute crash tutorial video on the game from the official channel of the International Cricket Council (ICC):

I accompanied Sunish to Cologne today, to drop him off at the railway station. He left for Stuttgart, for his internship. Praneeth returns tonight from India.

The red dots are all the places I have been to in the past year, according to my location history.

Day 10657
Wednesday, 24 October 2018

120,038 words, 1771 views, 190 comments, 149 posts, 20 likes, 7 followers… I am celebrity. Seems like it was only yesterday I received my first ever like (it was 28 days ago). I am so proud of myself right now. Also, some of my craziest writing is on here too, but it is well hidden. Good luck finding it. Let me know what you think of it if/when you do, haha.

I went to Cologne today, and ended up visiting the Michael Schumacher Private Collection museum in Ossendorf. I had a great time looking at his collection of cars, formula race cars, driver suits, winner trophies and medals. (Check out the slideshow below)

It is sad what happened to him though. For those who do not know, on 29 December 2013, Schumacher suffered a traumatic brain injury in a skiing accident. He was placed in a medically induced coma for six months until 16 June 2014. He left the hospital in Grenoble for further rehabilitation at the University Hospital of Lausanne. On 9 September 2014, Schumacher was relocated to his home where he continues to receive medical treatment and rehabilitation privately. As of 2018, he remains unable to walk or stand. Schumacher is the only driver in history to win seven Formula One World Championships, five of which he won consecutively. The most successful driver in the history of the sport, Schumacher holds the records for the most World Championship titles (7), the most Grand Prix wins (91), the most fastest laps (77) and the most races won in a single season (13), and according to the official Formula One website, Schumacher is “statistically the greatest driver the sport has ever seen”. Also, if you have followed my blog long enough, you would know that Schumacher was one of my childhood role models. (Read: Role Models)

Day 10658
Thursday, 25 October 2018

In today’s news, an Indian university is offering a law course on Harry Potter. It will focus on the parallels between our world and the one created by J. K. Rowling and how our rule of law (or more specifically, Indian rule of law) applies to the fictional world of wizardry. (Source: Perth Now)

Speaking of Harry Potter, how do you like my sketch for the silly Messenger game called Draw Something with one of my internet friends? I am proud of it, haha. I have been having a lot of fun drawing, after so many years. Maybe it has rekindled my passion for pencil sketching, who knows?

I drank 0.5 L of 2.5% alcohol lemon flavoured beer again today. I’m drunk. I need to stop drinking it weekly, maybe once a month is better. My stomach hurts when I yawn. Is that normal? Am I going to die in my sleep tonight?

Day 10659
Friday, 26 October 2018

Nope. I survived. Ta-da!

I found these in the bookstore in Köln today:

Harry Potter books in German! I also visited the Köln Cathedral. At 515 feet, it is the tallest Cathedral, and once was the tallest building in the world (from 1880-1890).

I need to watch my weight. I have lost nearly 10 kg since I moved to Germany. I’ll go underweight again soon, if I do not fix it while I am still in my youth. I must stop being lazy about cooking meals and going hungry instead. Not good for my health.

Day 10660
Saturday, 27 October 2018

You know, the only wedding I got to be a part of (and helped plan/organise) was my sister’s, and we had around 200 guests. The temperature was upwards of 40°C and humid (the ancestral house is a few hundred metres from the beach), we had a power failure, and the backup generators failed too (“What are the odds, right?”), and I was sweating a river. For perspective, the few pictures I can be seen in my sister’s wedding album, the bride’s brother is not wearing a suit or a sherwani, but a T-shirt and shorts. Yes, you read that right. In fact, for most of the day, I wasn’t even wearing the T-shirt, haha. See for yourself (slideshow below).

Val says, “I have changed your date to 10/12/20 so that it adds up to 42.”

For context on that statement, read Day 10651.

The only technical glitch is there needs to be a bride in a wedding. Man, that part is hard to get. I don’t know how serious she is about India 2020 because I can make that shit happen. All my procrastinating ass needs is a deadline to work for. Yeah, I have some personal business to take care of before that, of course. Like finding a girl, proposing and stuff. Also finally graduating from here. That part is the hardest, but like I said, I can make it happen.

In other news, the Mumbai Police used Deathly Hallows sign in their latest tweet and Harry Potter fans went crazy. (Source: Indian Express)

Wikipedia is surprisingly reliable for the most part, despite being open to anonymous editing, isn’t it? Hence why I donate €5 to Wiki Commons every year, to do my bit to keep it going. They send me an appreciation letter and everything. Well, it’s a personal choice. I do use Wikipedia a lot, like multiple times a day. It is the starting point for any kind of research one wants to do on the internet. The additional links at the bottom of each page guides one to more reliable sources. It is all there in one place.
