Continued from Day 10575…

India lost the test today, by 31 runs. They came so close. I didn’t know England was playing their 1000th game. They deserved to win. India sucked. If one man (Kohli) is scoring 200 of the 436 team runs, what are the other 10 players doing?
In life, it is so important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.
I do that more often than I realise. I guess as I got older, that urge to always be right has been fading. I’m okay with not having the last word either. But while it’s important not to get carried away with “your opinion, my opinion“, and be open to seeing the other’s point of view, for as much as we hate to admit it, we aren’t always right. As long as we’re pragmatic, and non-sentimental about our own opinion, I guess.
Today’s movie? Mission: Impossible II & III.

Why do we take life so seriously? Why do we have expectations from people whose actions we have no control over? Worse, why do we place our happiness button in their hands? My happiness button should be in my control, no?
Today’s movie? Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
I found out about the Temple in Hamm today. I might visit the place some day. For now, I got free vpn again, so that means I can resume watching Season 5 of Dexter!

Today was a good day, productivity-wise! I applied hair oil on my scalp, shaved my beard, applied face mask, took a shower, went to the Mensa for lunch, took a nap…
What did I learn in German today?
- All nouns are capitalized.
- Three German genders. Learn every noun along with its gender.
- Verb conjugation in present tense, for regular verbs + sein (to be).
- Umlauts (German vowels)
- No such thing as continuous aspect in German sentences.
It’s not much, but it’s a start!
HiH progress: I would have done Lesson 5 of ASTR-101 had it not been for the annoying 504 Gateway Timeout. It is so annoyingly frustrating to want to do something (for a change) but being unable to do it, and especially so when the reason isn’t me.
Today’s TV: Season 5 of Dexter

Isabel finally replied. I had to wait 50 days for this. I’m so glad we were able to sort it out and move past this. (Context: Schade! What Just Happened?)
Warm day today. It has been a hot summer in the last month or so. I’m flying home in a week. For a month. I miss home, so I’m looking forward to the next month.
No matter what time of the year it is, the weather is always better back home.
Today’s TV: Season 6 of Dexter

General Disclaimer, for no reason at all:
I do not represent all Indian men on the internet. I am not taking responsibility for their embarrassing behaviour. But I will apologise in advance, and on their behalf. The least I can do.
Nothing much happened today. I spent the day finishing Season 6 of Dexter, and watching the first 4 episodes of Season 7.
Am I losing my way again?
The title of this post is one of the author’s favourite opening lines, he often uses it to annoy his friends in an online text conversation.
